Hotdog Water is a 1.21 hardcore vanilla Minecraft survival server. It embodies the expereience of playing hardcore on LAN with your friends. The server is strictly vanilla, with only minor cosmetic and moderation-supporting changes made to the base game.

 Other hardcore servers are usually not vanilla, based on a temporary ban on death, or use a fixed period for world reset. None of these capture the essense of a shared hardcore world.

- While it is a popular gamemode, lifesteal is often advertised as hardcore vanilla, but it is probably not what you're after when searching for hardcore vanilla.

- Giving players a temporary ban when they die still allows them to come back to their base and items if they haven't been raided. This is more similar to a vanilla SMP than a true hardcore experience.

- A fixed period for world reset, such as once per month, is true harcore. But it can be extremely inconvenient to both new players who join shortly before world reset and players who died shortly after world reset.

 Hotdog water seeks to balance the competing desires between the living and the dead by putting it up to a vote. A continuous vote is held on the discord to decide whether or not the world will be reset. The birch sign above gives the age of the current world.
